Top Ten Places in Lyon
Hi friends!
There are lots of places to visit in Lyon, let alone all the delicious food to eat! I’ve put together a list of my top 10 that you should check out. Enjoy!
1. Le Desjeuner
Located at the top of the hill of La Croix Rousse Square, this all day brunch spot is the place to be. They’ve got everything from pancakes, avocado buns, delicious brioche, and yummy granola parfait.
2. Placid Café
They are an excellent coffee shop with Vietnamese street food. They have the most amazing pho, bánh mì, and burgers in the first arrondissement of Lyon. Their menu changes regularly, but they always bring the best to the table. Do yourself a favor and go pay them a visit. You won’t regret it!
3. L'Harmonie des Vins
This hidden gem off the side of Rue Neuve near Hôtel de Ville which serves great wine, cheese & charcuterie plates. These are often referred to as ‘les planches’. Order yourself one for an ‘apero’ and celebrate the wine and cheese culture of France.
4. Gigi
This terrace in La Croix Rousse has the cosiest feel in the city. Grab a spritz or a beer at one of their outdoor tables and enjoy a happy hour outdoors.
5. La Food Traboule
This mix of food vendors makes for perfect indoor food market experience. Choose from a selection of quality French cuisine, among whom are several local lyonnais chefs. Can’t decide on something to eat, take a turn around the food traboule and taste a couple of local restaurant favorites!
6. Maison Nô
This chic hotel in the center of the city offers a beautiful view of downtown from its rooftop. Go up the elevator to the top for a perfect sunset.
7. Café Noze
This cute café is a delicious spot to sit outside and choose from an assortment of chef specials for lunch or dinner. Get a formule which comes with a starter, a main course, and a dessert.
8. Les Muses
This rooftop bar is on top of the Opera house across from Hôtel de Ville. The lights at night are a sight to see.
9. L'Amour de Nuit
This cheese bar serves the best wine and cheese pairings. Located a little outside of the Presqu’île across the Rhône river, this fromagerie offers a selection of locally sourced cheeses and great wines that are certain not to disappoint.
10. L'Accent
This place is great for a fun dinner. They serve lots of little plates that you can share with friends. Order a round of plates and a bottle of wine for the table. It’s a little off the beaten path, in the 6th arrondissement, where you find many locals around!
